Compassion in World Farming

Compassion Collective was set-up by Anna and Stu who are also the co-founders of Compassionate Dorset – a voluntary animal welfare group in the UK who have raised thousands in donations since 2009 as a local supporter group for the leading farm animal welfare charity Compassion in World Farming.

Compassion in World Farming was founded in 1967 by a concerned dairy farmer on a mission to improve the lives of farm animals and end factory farming. Like Compassion, we believe that factory farming is the biggest cause of animal cruelty in the UK and worldwide. We believe in a world without factory farming – where farm animals are treated with the respect and compassion that all sentient beings deserve.

Factory farming doesn’t just affect farm animals either. The use of pesticides, growth of intensive farming and industrial fish farming, along with deforestation to grow food to feed animals for meat, is also polluting our land, oceans and inland waterways, and causing a decline in our UK and world wildlife – from bees and hedgehogs to Orang-utans, jaguars and even the Sumatran elephant.

Our founder Anna has been vegan for over 14 years and vegetarian since she was 10, and Stu has also been vegetarian since he was 16, so we are very happy to see a clear rise in the understanding and popularity of veganism. However, we believe that Compassion in World Farming’s work to influence food producers, supermarkets and lobbying governments, is vital to create a more compassionate world for the billions of animals who still continue to be farmed for food worldwide right now, and to help our wildlife and planet today too.

We occasionally run limited edition art and t-shirt campaigns through online channels including our Animaltopia Clothing online shop to support charities including Compassion in World Farming and their Stop Live Transport campaign, and are currently donating a share of our profits from the sales of our ‘End Live Exports’ t-shirts.

All our tees and tops including our jumpers are vegan friendly – made from organic materials which do not contain any animal tested or animal derived ingredients.
